Since this was taken in Australia, and my wife and I like to joke about how “everything” in Australia can kill you, I’m pretty sure this spider could too.. 😉
Interesting fact overheard from presentation at Taronga Zoo. Zebra mothers and babies memorize the unique stripe patterns on each other almost immediately and can pick each other out of a crowd of zebras easily very soon after birth.
A zebra’s stripes also act as a cooling mechanism, and as a fly repellent. (The surface looks very confusing to a fly, they have trouble landing on zebras.)
