Couple of Zebras
Interesting fact overheard from presentation at Taronga Zoo. Zebra mothers and babies memorize the unique stripe patterns on each other almost immediately and can pick each other out of a crowd of zebras easily very soon after birth.
A zebra’s stripes also act as a cooling mechanism, and as a fly repellent. (The surface looks very confusing to a fly, they have trouble landing on zebras.)
