Okay, I didn’t learn about the name, but I do know that this one, being in Louisiana, is most apt to be a Bronzed Cowbird. Thanks for helping me learn something new today, Mike McBride Photography.
Janet, we think this is a brown-headed cowbird. He is a bad, bad man. After an initial rush of excitement at seeing a “new” bird, we did research and now understand that he is not a welcome sight at the feeder.
Off I go to look up how it got its name.

I’m learning much from the McBride School of Birding. ??
The cow bird has an interesting history….explaining why they do what they do!
Are they in Central Oregon, Jill Craft?
Janet Phillips McKensey not that I know of. I haven’t ever seen one. I learned about them on a birding site.
